To raise awareness amongst parents and build grassroots support, Can Can encouraged groups across the country to stage Sit-Ins at schools, with parents and media sitting the same SATs tests as their children. Six large events and 13 smaller events engaged parents from Newcastle to Devon and won widespread national and local media coverage. Together with a consistent communications drive, this and other actions mean the campaign has an evergrowing base of activists and engaged head teachers who support and help organise on the ground.
