We took lots of 11-year-olds to Westminster today to administer SATs exams to MPs and Peers. This is an effective way of bringing home to policy makers exactly what it is we expect our primary school pupils to know and do. It also shows up some of the absurdities of the current system.
This has helped to build parliamentary support for the campaign to scrap SATs and replace it with a better system amongst the new intake of MPs.
