We’ve worked on a groundbreaking report with influential thinktank IPPR to show that SATs exams work against children with disadvantages.
Their research has produced several powerful recommendations, strengthening the case for replacing SATs with a more equitable system. We took IPPR researchers, children and headteachers to Westminster to brief a packed roomful of parliamentarians on the issue, explaining that disengagement from learning, a huge contributing factor in the current NEETs crisis, actually starts in primary.
